# Other performance considerations

Apart from activating system-wide caches, the following performance improvements should be achieved:

## Views caching

The Views module provides internal caching tools, allowing for the reduction of rendering times and improving the performance of your site. When enabling Views caching, make sure that the right caching is activated. We recommend activating the **Tag-based** caching. This will ensure proper cache expiration on content updates. However, on traffic-heavy websites, it may be better to use the **Time-based** caching.

## Search API Views

Search API views, like the **Jobs Search** one we built earlier, requires the **Search API (tag-based)** or **Search API (time-based)** caching. Applying non-Search API caching may not work as expected.

## Image Styles

Images may contribute a significant portion to the total page size. Reducing page size helps speed up page loading times with less bandwidth. This is even more relevant for mobile devices.

As a Site builder, make sure that the right image styles are in place. Avoid using the **Original size** **image** when configuring displays - use the right image styles instead.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://salsa-digital.gitbook.io/govcms-site-builder/unit-10-site-performance/other-performance-considerations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
